House Bill Aims to Clear Backlog for Green Cards

As per the current law, Indian nationals whose I-140 Petition has been approved might have to wait for about 70 years before they get their green cards because of the per country cap, which mandates that no single country should get more than 7% of 140,000 employment-based green cards. So, about 9,800 employment-based green cards are issued to Indians every year. HR 392 AKA Fairness for High Skilled Immigrants Act is the bill that is aiming to eliminate the per-country caps for green cards.

If HR 392 bill is passed by the Congress than the employment-based visas of the other country could be used by Indians as for all other countries except China and Philippines the employment-based visas are available. We would only have to wait and see how things work out in the future.
